It is required for harvesting certain crops (''i.e.,'' [[Amaranth]], [[Kale]], [[Wheat]]). It can also other harvest crops within its swing range (with some exceptions, such as fruit trees). It cannot harvest forageables found in the wild, but can harvest forageables grown from seasonal wild seeds on the farm.

If the player has a [[Silo]], cutting each plot of [[Grass]] growing on [[the Farm]] gives a 50% chance of adding a piece of [[hay]] to the silo.
