The player is able to cook recipes after upgrading the [[farmhouse]] for the first time. Following the house upgrade, a kitchen will become available. Interacting with the stove will allow the player access to all their unlocked recipes to craft. The refrigerator in the kitchen acts as a food storage - when the player begins to cook, any food stored in the refrigerator can be used without being placed in the player's inventory.

When cooking, unlocked recipes will appear in colour and display names when moused over. Any missing ingredients will be highlighted in red. Locked recipes display as unnamed silhouettes. If all the ingredients required for a recipe are present either in the player's inventory or the refrigerator (or a combination of the two) the recipe icon will highlight.

When cooking recipes which are learned appear and display names when moused over as well as missing ingredients highlighted red, unlearned recipes are simply an unnamed silhouette.  If the player has all ingredients available for a specific recipe it will highlight, and players will be able to cook it by clicking on the image. Ingredients can be in the players inventory, or inside the refrigerator. Food inside the refrigerator can be used as ingredients to cook without removing it.
