Sweet Gem Berry
|Sweet Gem Berry|
|It's by far the sweetest thing you've ever smelled.|
|Growth Time:||24 days|
The Sweet Gem Berry is a crop that grows from a Rare Seed after 24 days. It is not considered a Fruit or Vegetable and so cannot be used in a Keg or Preserves Jar. It also does not benefit from the Tiller profession. It can be purchased from the Travelling Cart for 9,000-15,000g.
Despite its high value, the berry is regarded as a neutral gift by everyone in Stardew Valley. However, if you give one to Old Master Cannoli in the Secret Woods, you will get a Stardrop in return, and your Energy will increase permanently.

Since the Seed Maker creates an average of two seeds from one Sweet Gem Berry, and that only 97.5% of the time, and since a Sweet Gem Berry is worth at least 3,000g (more if it's of advanced quality), each Rare Seed produced from the Seed Maker is created at a cost of more than 1,500g, perhaps as much as 2,250g. This makes the maximum price of 1,000g at the Travelling Cart a much more profitable buy.
Travelling Cart however only sells one Rare Seed (or very rarely, two) and is available only twice per week; its supply is linear and can only support a patch of 6-7 plants. It remains profitable to buy the bi-weekly Rare Seed as often as feasible, but to expand the production of Sweet Gem Berries it is necessary to use the Seed Maker, sacrificing early profit.
It is not used in any Bundles.
It is not used in any recipes.
