One method to quickly obtain a large quantity of stone is to mine large rocks at The Mines. Enter the Mines and go down the ladder to the first level. Mine any large rocks you see, ignoring all smaller ones. Once finished, go back up the ladder to the Mine entrance and then immediately back down to level one again. Since the levels are randomly generated everytime you enter them, there will always be a chance for more large rocks to spawn. By constantly "refreshing" the first level and mining only large rocks, you can effectively gain over 500 stone in a day.

The price of stone at the Carpenter's Shop increases from 20 to 100 starting in year 2. The player will receive a letter in the mail on Spring 1 of year 2 saying "Notice: The price of raw materials at Robin's shop and Clint's shop has increased."  The gold obtained by selling stone to Robin or through the Shipping Bin is unchanged.
