Tackle
Revision as of 00:07, 16 March 2016 by VoidFracture (talk | contribs) (Added various info for the items, still needs hard data for some of the stats.)
Tackle is can be attached to fishing rods to make it easier to catch fish. Many lure recipes unlock as the player's fishing skill increases.
You must have an Iridium Rod to equip tackle. An Iridium Rod allows both tackle and bait to be used simultaneously.
Tackles have a durability-bar, which decreases on use.
Image | Name | Description | Notes | Purchase | Crafting |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Spinner | The shape makes it spin around in the water. Slightly increases the bite-rate when fishing. | Exact bite-rate increase value pending. | 500g | Iron Bar (2) | |
Dressed Spinner | The metal tab and colorful streamers create an enticing spectacle for fish. Increases the bite-rate when fishing. | Exact bite-rate increase value pending. | 1000g | Iron Bar (2)
Cloth (1) | |
Magnet | Increases the chance of finding treasures when fishing. However, fish aren't crazy about the taste. | Exact treasure find rate increase pending. This item is decent if you want extra materials or are collecting artifacts. | 1000g | Iron Bar (1) | |
Trap Bobber | Causes fish to escape slower when you aren't reeling them in. | This is one of the most viable tackle items to use, as it has a variety of application and a very good bonus. | 500g | Copper Bar (1)
Sap (10) | |
Cork Bobber | Slightly increases the size of your "fishing bar". | The increase in size isn't large enough to be helpful, in general. | 750g | Wood (10) | |
Lead Bobber | Adds weight to your "fishing bar", preventing it from bouncing along the bottom. | This is not very helpful, is fairly easy to prevent the bar from bouncing by clicking to slow its velocity right before it hits the bottom. | 200g | ||
Treasure Hunter | Fish don't escape while collecting treasures. Also slightly increases the chance to find treasures. | Great for when you are trying to collect artifacts, or simply looking for some extra materials. | 750g | Gold Bar (2) | |
Barbed Hook | Makes your catch more secure, causing the "fishing bar" to cling to your catch. Works best on slow, weak fish. | Although this can help with incredibly slow fish, it actually makes it more difficult to catch faster fish, as the "cling" moves the bar faster than your reflexes do, but not far enough to stay with the fish. The movement gets so unpredictable that it is nearly impossible to keep up with. | 1000g | Copper Bar (1) |
