Blue chickens are born as blue chicks. The top of the screen will display if it's a blue chicken or not.  

Blue chickens are born as blue chicks. As of v1.2, the top of the screen will display the color of chicken at the time of purchase or hatching.  If you are trying for a blue chicken and don't get one, you can exit and restart that day.
