The Chicken is an animal that comes in three varieties: White and Brown, and Blue. Blue chickens can be obtained only after seeing Shane's 8-heart event. Chickens can be purchased from Marnie's Ranch for 
800g or hatched from an Egg in an Incubator. The egg will only hatch if there is room left in the coop. Upon purchase or hatching, chickens can be named.
Care
Adult chickens will produce eggs every morning if fed. Chickens eat hay, which can be purchased from Marnie or harvested from grass.
Produce
The Chicken can produce an Egg or Brown Egg every morning. Once sufficient friendship and happiness is reached, a chicken can produce a Large Egg or Large Brown Egg which sells for 95g.
Eggs can also be placed in the Mayonnaise Machine to produce Mayonnaise, which sells for 190g or 285g depending on quality.

Blue Chickens
After seeing Shane's 8-heart event, each chicken you purchase from Marnie or hatch from a brown or white egg has a 1/4 chance of being blue. Aside from appearance, blue chickens are identical to regular white and brown chickens.
Blue chickens are born as blue chicks. If you are trying for a blue chicken and don't get one, you can exit and restart that day. The color of the chick is assigned when it hatches.
Selling
It is possible to sell Chickens. The amount of gold obtained for doing so is dependent on how many hearts the animal has. The more hearts; the higher amount of gold fetched for selling it. The amount of gold obtained for selling a maximum-heart Chicken is 1,040g.
