Seeds and fertilizer are placed on a tile using the left-click control. Since planting and fertilizing require no tool use, those activities consume none of the player's energy, as reflected on the energy bar. Only one type of fertilizer may be used at a time on any given tile. Fertilizer must be placed on a tile before a seed is planted there.
