If planted in a 3x3 square, crops have a chance to become a "Giant Crop" -- a single 3x3 plant which must be harvested with an [[axe]] for 18 crops. Confirmed plants which can become giant - [[cauliflower]], [[pumpkin]], [[melon]]. Presumably [[flowers]] can't become giant.
