The golden pumpkin is a prize obtained from doing the Spirit's Eve Festival, actually it has no other purpose than selling it for a profit of 2500.
The way of obtaining it is simply by going to the part of the maze with the "?" sign, and go through the bushes there, then up into the mine cave, and from there to the right until you get to the chest located inside an enclosed area.
