The '''Mermaid's Pendant''' is an item obtained from the [[Old Mariner]] for {{price|5000}} after you have reached [[friendship|10 hearts]] with a romanceable [[Villagers|villager]], given them a [[bouquet]], and have the [[Farmhouse#Upgrades|first farmhouse upgrade]]. This pendant is used to [[marriage|marry]] a character. The [[Old Mariner]] will be at the beach past the bridge that costs 300 wood to build. He will only appear before 7pm, and only on rainy days.  He will appear in [[Winter]] only if a [[Rain Totem]] is used.

The '''Mermaid's Pendant''' is an item used to [[marriage|propose marriage]] to a [[Villagers#Marriage Candidates|marriage candidate]] and can be purchased from the [[Old Mariner]] for {{price|5000}}. The Old Mariner appears on the beach past the bridge that costs 300 [[wood]] to repair. He will appear between 6am – 7pm, and only on rainy days.  He can appear in [[Winter]] if a [[Rain Totem]] is used, but does not appear during the [[Night Market]], even if it is raining.

If you are married, the [[Old Mariner]] will appear, but will not sell you a Mermaid's Pendant.  If you get divorced, you can purchase another one, which can be given to any romanceable [[Villagers|villager]]. If you use the Mermaid's Pendant on the day of purchase and return to the [[Old Mariner]], you can also buy another one.

 

 

If the player is already married or has a housemate, the [[Old Mariner]] will appear but will not sell a Mermaid's Pendant.  If the player gets divorced, they can purchase another one, which can be given to any marriage candidate. If the player is engaged but not yet married, they can return to the [[Old Mariner]] and purchase another pendant.
