I'm at Pierre's a lot, and I have never seen anyone enter or exit the Room housing the Altar of Yoba.

Also, as far as I know, no one found any way to interact with the "Altar of Yoba" yet. It could be conditional (like bringing a specific item, only on stormy Wednesdays, which is difficult to test, because Pierre closes his shop on that day, before you repair the Community Center), and storms are rare, but I can't datamine to know for sure.

Description

Yoba is the ancient guardian deity in the game. They are referenced multiple times throughout the game by different characters. There is also a shrine to Yoba found in the down right corner of Pierre's General Store where you occasionally will find different characters paying their respects to the deity.

Usorted Information (WIP = Work In Progress)

Ok, I have some Ideas, but for now don't know how to sort out all this information.

First is the symbol which we can use to distinguish references to Yoba - it is the Anglo-Saxon rune called "ear", which can mean "earth" or "grave" (Wikipedia). This could be taken to mean that the people of Pelican Town worship the Earth. This symbol can be found:

1. On top of "Altar of Yoba" (Pierre's Shop)

2. Checking the ring of Yoba (though it is conflicting, with the round nature of the ring). The ring has a chance to make you invulnerable after getting hit.

3. In the game "Journey of the Prairie King", on the third level, on tombstones (but I don't remember if it looks up or down). Interesting thing is: On picking up a tombstone it looks reversed (upside-down), and using it will cast lightning upon you, and will turn you into an invulnerable zombie (for a limited amount of time). http://stardewvalleywiki.com/Journey_of_the_Prairie_King

Name "Yoba" can be found in:

1. "Altar of Yoba" (Pierre's Shop)

2. Highlights From The Book of Yoba (Museum) (one of the lost books)

[Before time there was only the endless golden light. The light called out to itself...'Yoba'. Yoba wanted more. Yoba swirled the golden light into a vortex. Yoba swirled and swirled until a hole formed in the eye of the vortex. From this hold sprung a seed. Yoba smoothed the golden light. Yoba smoothed and smoothed, and the light became soil. Into this soil, Yoba planted the seed. The seed sprouted, and behold! A vine sprung skyward, twisting and probing, casting a writhing shadow onto the golden void. After 11 days, the vine bore fruit. Yoba, with knowing wisdom, peeled the tough skin off the fruit and saw that the world was inside. And so that is how the world came to be.]

3. Dialogs ??? (I dont know, because I dont speak with NPCs much.)

Dialogue from Caroline: "It was the previous owners who built the altar room. We aren't religious, but we let the other townsfolk use it if they want."

Note: It's strange she says this because Abigail seems to have a poster of some sort of altar in her room. Though to my knowledge, there is no direct link between Yoba and the poster. The same poster is not present in the insert of her room to the right of the players, which appears once married.
