How to copy info to a specific page
The migration guide shouldn't be the main docs for any features. With Stardew Valley 1.6.9 now released, we should integrate the docs into the modding section of the wiki where applicable.
Here's the recommended way to copy content to another page:
- Create or edit the target page.
-
Paste the section you're copying exactly as-is into the page. This is important to maintain attribution; you can edit the layout/content in step 5.
Suggested template for a new page (replace
<topic>
,<brief description>
, and<content>
appropriately):← Index This page documents <topic>, <brief description>. ==Copied from Modding:Migrate to Stardew Valley 1.6.9== <content>
(If your account is new or has few edits, you may get an anti-spam error message. If so, you can ask someone in #making-mods to do steps 1–4 for you.)
- In the edit summary, attribute the original contributors of the content you're copying. This is required by the site license.
For example:
add info from Modding:Migrate to Stardew Valley 1.6.9 (main author XXX, with formatting fixes by YYY)
Here's a summary of contributions up to 2024-11-15 for the doc sections. This excludes the Name translation changes for wiki maintainers, which is unlikely to be moved into other pages.
editor sections affected attribution summary Pathoschild all main author - Save the page.
- Edit the page, and change the content/formatting as needed.
Once a section is moved:
- edit the migration guide;
- add

at the top of the moved section; - if applicable, replace the feature documentation in the guide with a shorter text about the 1.6 migration specifically.
