The Mushroom Floor
Line 305: Line 305:
An infested floor will always be on the same level for each day and goes up one level the next day. For example, if an infested floor is found on level 54 one day, it will be on 53 the next day, 52 the day after that, and so on. On some days, an infested floor might not be found because certain floors are excluded from being infested. These include elevator/treasure floors and the first five, last ten, and nineteenth floor of each section (refer back to the information about sections in Floors). There can be multiple infested floors at once, each are generally around twenty or more floors apart.

On the first of each Season, a random floor between 80 and 120 is chosen to have an increased chance of spawning a large number of red and purple mushrooms.  This floor decreases in number by one each day until reaching floor 80 or until a change of season.  The day after this happens, another random floor is chosen.

Wall lanterns on the mushroom floor glow green instead of the normal yellow/white color.

The mushroom floor has no visible effect on floors ending in 0 or 5, or on levels chosen to be infested (see previous section).

Once a mushroom floor has been identified, a player can restart the day and proceed immediately to that floor to forage a large number of mushrooms.  Leaving the floor and returning the same day will respawn a large number of mushrooms on that floor.  The process can be repeated to amass a large number of mushrooms in a single day.  The next day, the floor will move up one (e.g., from floor 118 to 117, or from 94 to 93), and can potentially be reached quickly.

Note: Some players have reported finding more than one mushroom floor on a single day (e.g., on floors 101 and 111).  Other players report that they cannot find a mushroom floor after searching all floors from 80 to 120 for several days in a row.  This may happen when the mushroom floor is the same as an infested floor, as both will move up one each day.
