Bug Coverage

There is a bug that has caused me to be unable to apply tree fertilizer on a rainy day. The bug does not always trigger when it is raining, however, and I do not know what other factor may be involved. I cannot get the game to repeat it at will. But does this deserve mention in this article, or in the main fertilizer article? Giles (talk) 20:11, 25 April 2022 (UTC)

I haven't encountered this bug, so I did a search online for anyone else experiencing it, and couldn't find anything. So, the place to report it is the official forums, in the bug reports section. That way, your save file can be uploaded and tested, and the code can be stepped through to see what's triggering the problem. Others can report if they've experienced the same thing, and possibly add details. The first question people will ask is "are you sure the tree isn't already fertilized". Thanks. I was sure the trees (4 of them) were not fertilized, which is why I tried repeatedly to fertilize them. The game just wouldn't do it, and it wouldn't give me the popup saying "already fertilized" either. When I reloaded later, the behavior wouldn't repeat. Strange. But if no one else has encountered that, I'm going to write it off as some anomalous code execution. Maybe a cosmic ray hit my RAM or something. (I knew a CS prof who once had PROVED such an occurrence.) But I also know from experience that these unrepeatable problems are the bane of every QA person. They take a ton of time to look into, and many times they have to give up in frustration. So I figure the problem's got to be worth it to solve, before spending the effort.
