Soundtrack

Hello FarmerJoe! I have a couple of questions about your recent edits to the Soundtrack page. What is the purpose of the "In-game index" field? When you scroll through the songs in-game, they are listed by name, not index. So, I'm confused as to what it means.

Second, have you seen the modder's resourse spreadsheet at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1CpDrw23peQiq-C7F2FjYOMePaYe0Rc9BwQsj3h6sjyo/edit#gid=239695361 ?

I think it contains much of the information you've extracted, and more. It's a valuable resource, but contains technical information that really doesn't belong on the wiki. I think what you've added to the Soundtrack page falls into that category. If there is a visible index in-game on mobile, then please correct me. For now, though, I'm going to remove the technical info from the page.

Hey, Margotbean. If you look into the APK of Stardew Valley Mobile edition, under assets/Content/XACT, you can find a Music.xwb that contains all the music files for the game (not unlike the "Wave Bank.xwb" file in Terraria PC Edition). When I use the TExtract utility, they don't always come out in the expected order (i.e., Stardew Valley Overture is the 74th track). Since I was ripping the audio files for my own purpose, I thought I might as well share my findings for anyone doing something similar.
I actually was not aware of the spreadsheet you linked. While it does seem useful, it doesn't appear to contain quite the information I added (perhaps due to the different between how Mobile and PC works?) If I had a Google account, though, that would definitely be a good place to add my edits. FarmerJoe (talk) 17:28, 28 July 2021 (UTC)
If you like, you can add the information in your user space (for example, create the page User:FarmerJoe/Soundtrack) and add the information there. Thanks again, margotbean (talk) 17:51, 28 July 2021 (UTC)
I'll do that. The only problem is that I'm getting errors on not being allowed to make mass edits. Is there a way around that?FarmerJoe (talk) 18:26, 28 July 2021 (UTC)
I've created the page for you (User:FarmerJoe/Soundtrack), now you can make a series of smaller edits, like you did to the original Soundtrack page, so there shouldn't be any more problems. If you run into the error again, make a series of smaller edits (saving in-between) so the abuse filters won't get upset. :) Thanks, margotbean (talk) 19:03, 28 July 2021 (UTC)
Done. Thanks for all your help, Margotbean~ FarmerJoe (talk) 19:34, 28 July 2021 (UTC)
