Buffs are temporary boosts or drains on the player's stats and abilities. They can be achieved by consuming various foods and drinks, or from monster attacks.

Eating a food with buffs will wipe out any active buffs and replace them with the buffs from the newly eaten food. If the newly eaten food has no buffs, the existing buffs will remain in effect.

Note that "Tipsy", "Jinxed", and "Slimed" are often referred to as "debuffs" since they have a negative effect.
