The Flounder is a fish that can be caught in the ocean at The Beach or on the Beach Farm during Spring and Summer. It can also be caught during any season on Ginger Island West (ocean), South, Southeast, and in the Pirate Cove. It may also randomly appear at the Traveling Cart for data-sort-value="100"Gold.png300–1,000g.

Flounder can be caught regardless of time of day or season using Magic Bait.

Flounder can be placed in a Fish Pond, where they will reproduce every 2 days. The initial pond capacity is 3 fish, but the capacity can be increased to 10 by completing two quests. The primary output is dark brown Flounder Roe. However, Sea Jelly is also possible starting at population 7.

Tailoring

Flounder can be used in the spool of the Sewing Machine to create the dyeable   Sailor Shirt. It can be used in dyeing, serving as an orange dye at the dye pots located in Emily's and Haley's house, 2 Willow Lane. It can also be used as a brown dye when used in the spool of the Sewing Machine with a dyeable clothing item in the feed.

  • 1.4: Introduced.
  • 1.5: Special Order quest added. Can now be caught on Ginger Island during any season on Island West (ocean), South, Southeast, and in the Pirate Cove.
  • 1.6: Completely revamped the Flounder Fish Pond mechanics by changing Fish Pond quests, reducing spawn time from 3 days to 2 days, and adding Sea Jelly to possible outputs.
