The Winter Root is a foraging item found only in Winter. Unlike other forage items found on the ground, to obtain a Winter Root, you must dig with the Hoe. It's not necessary to dig at an Artifact Spot, although Winter Root may be found at Artifact Spots. Winter Root may be found by digging any tillable soil in Stardew Valley outside of The Farm. They may also be grown from Winter Wild Seeds.

Occasionally they may be sold at the Travelling Cart or found in Garbage Cans in Winter. They may also be dropped by Blue Slimes (8% chance).

Putting a Winter Root in a Seed Maker will generate 1-3 Winter Seeds.
