Damage

Just tested recently - deals 8-9 damage to the player and about 20-30 damage to enemies (post F120 buffs). Player damage is reduced by armor to a minimum of 1.

Incidentally, regulars Bombs do around 14-16 base player damage and about 40 damage to enemies, Mega Bombs did around 18 base to the player. I want to retest some stuff (including the mega bomb damage to mobs) before I make a series of edits, although of course if anyone else has their own data please go ahead. Overall bombs are quite easily survivable for the player, and tbh it was a lot less damage than I was expecting. Techhead7890 (talk) 04:27, 31 August 2023 (UTC)

What armor are you using? The breastplates tailored from metal bars? I'm confused.
It would be best if you could provide a code reference rather than in-game testing. If we can find the code, then we can mention all the variables that increase or decrease bomb damage, which would be best. margotbean (talk) 15:49, 31 August 2023 (UTC)
Sorry - referring to defense provided by boots/rings/buffs. I basically took more damage when I took the boots off. I'm not a C++ dev and I don't even have an IDE so that's not as much of an option for me. I regret that I can't get the best values, which is why I posted it for discussion/validation first. But I think this is useful information to have, especially because the item's in-game description warns you not to stand in it (Stand back!/Watch out!/Use with extreme caution) and the current revision of Mega Bomb has a line warning you to bring extra healing items; so much so to an extent that isn't really reflected in the actual danger of passing out during game play. Well, there's a simple solution to this problem. When your in-game testing is done, create a "Bomb Damage" section on each page that reports your results, and mention that the results are based on in-game testing. Easy peasy. If someone finds the game code, they can refine the section. If they find very different in-game behavior (which I don't expect, but you never now), they can report their results here on this talk page, and we can investigate the cause(s). :) margotbean (talk) 15:19, 3 September 2023 (UTC)
