With the exception of [[Quality Fertilizer]], crafting Fertilizer is always cheaper than purchasing it.
Each time you craft [[Speed-Gro]] or [[Deluxe Speed-Gro]], you receive 5 fertilizers, though the "5" does not show up on the crafting menu until you have the required ingredients in inventory.
