Mossy seeds can be obtained by shaking or chopping down [[Green Rain Trees]], and by breaking [[Mossy Weeds]]. They also occasionally drop from shaking or chopping down other trees with moss on them (so far only confirmed to work on oak and maple trees with moss and no leaves in fall; more testing is underway).
