The '''Mushroom Log''' is a [[Crafting|crafted item]] that produces mushrooms. It produces mushrooms every 4 days (rain might decrease this by 1 day??) and the quantity of mushrooms produced increases with the amount of wild [[trees]] nearby. The range for nearby appears to be around 4?? tiles and trees that are not fully grown appear to contribute to this total at least somewhat. The produced mushrooms can have different qualities but are unaffected by the [[Foraging#Foraging Skill|Botanist]] Perk. The amount of mushrooms maxes out at 5, this happens at around 8-12?? trees nearby. Different trees will produce different types of mushrooms, for example maple will produce only [[Common Mushroom|common]], [[Red Mushroom|red]], and [[Purple Mushroom|purple mushrooms]], whereas some other trees can produce [[morel]]s. The type of mushroom produces seems to be similar to that of mushroom trees in that it depends on the last item produced. In fall more rare mushrooms will be produced.
