It is produced by a [[Jack-O-Lantern]] that decomposes on the 1st of [[Winter]] (unless it has been stored in inventory or a chest).  It cannot be placed in a [[Recycling Machine]]. In the multiplayer update (currently [as of edit] beta), a '''Rotten Plant''' can also be produced by placing the '''Solid Gold Lewis''' in the center of town. The next day, you will receive a letter that tells you to leave 'his' private items alone, as well as 750g as 'hush money.' The letter is presumably from Mayor Lewis but is signed with no name. Along with receiving this letter, the player can go to town and break '''Rotten Plant''' with a pickaxe where they placed the '''Solid Gold Lewis''' the day before.
