There is a bug that can be exploited with those Spring Onion early in game. You can gather them even with a full inventory, as long as you already have 1 or more Spring Onion in your inventory. The game code seem to change the Quality of the item each times you try to pick it up. Hence, if you have a full inventory and 1 Silver or Gold Spring Onion in your inventory, just keep mashing the pick up button until the game lets you pick up the Spring Onion who will be now Silver Or Gold quality.
