Demolishing the stable does not also remove the horse, and rather than returning to the stable at night, the horse will stay wherever it was left.

Since Version 1.1, demolishing the stable will also remove the horse. (In earlier versions you could demolish the stable but keep the horse, except rather than returning to the stable at night, the horse would stay wherever it was left.)
