The beach is the only place where you can catch or [[Crab Pot|trap]] saltwater [[Fish]].  All water at the beach is considered to be saltwater, even the section of the river upstream of the bridge (where, in the real world, freshwater fish would be more likely).  Therefore, the same fish are available regardless of where on the beach you are fishing (with the exception of the [[Crimsonfish]], one of the five [[Legendary Fish]], that is only available from the east end of the beach).
