It can also randomly be found in [[Garbage Can]]s after unlocking The Desert or at the [[Traveling Cart]] for {{tprice|150}}. The only other fish that can be caught in the Desert is the [[Sandfish]]. 

It is the only other fish that can be caught in the Desert, besides the [[Sandfish]].  Since it is more valuable than the Sandfish, it is also more rare to get a bite from a Scorpion Carp, and the difficulty is significantly greater.  Catching the Scorpion Carp requires [[Fishing#Fishing_Skill|fishing level 4]], either naturally or by using fishing [[Buffs]]. Other than [[Fish#Legendary Fish|Legendary Fish]], the Scorpion Carp is the only fish where a certain fishing level must be met to hook it.
