Because its useless and annoying. There's no need for sticky header on a table when none of the other tables have them. Its not eye pleasing either. (DamiFides 16:03 (EST)) - Dunno how to set my signature like that so I typed it.

::Well, thanks for your response. Sticky table headers seem to be controversial across the internet, and it seems you're squarely in the "against" group. Unfortunately, several pages on the wiki have sticky table headers for long tables which span more than one pageful. I'm afraid they're not going away.
