*Use a staircase to evade one or more monster fights, especially [[The Mines#Infested Floors|infested floors]]. Some mine floors can be especially challenging. Consider upgrading [[weapons]] instead, though.

*Staircases can be used to escape difficult enemies or descend quickly in [[the Mines]] or [[Skull Cavern]].

*Use staircases in the [[Skull Cavern]] to descend quickly to lower floors for greater chances of valuable items, like [[Iridium Ore]] and [[Prismatic Shard]]s.

*Using [[Jade]] from [[Crystalarium]]s for staircases at the [[Desert Trader]] on Sundays and putting them in [[deconstructor]]s can net the player massive amounts of stone quickly.

**Note that staircases cannot be placed on the brickwork patterns and tillable areas on the ground of the cavern.

*Using [[Jade]] from [[Crystalarium|Crystalarium]]s for staircases at the [[Desert Trader]] on Sundays and putting them in [[deconstructor]]s can net the player massive amounts of stone quickly. Mr. Qi will have different dialogue in his quest when you use a staircase vs when you don't, so if you chose the staircases you will get different dialogue.
