Like all trees, it takes 28 days to grow to Maturity, after which it will begin to produce a single fruit every day for the remainder of it's bearing season. They will only grow to maturity if there are no other materials, debris, crops or other trees within a 5x5 square with the tree centered in the middle.

 

As fruit trees grow and age, once per year the fruit is upgraded, to a maximum of an Iridium Star (4 years) in quality.
