Feed chickens hay which can be purchased from Marnie.  If you build a fence around the coop, plant grass starter (purchased from Pierre's shop), and make sure the small roll-up door on the front of the coop is open, your chickens will feed from the grass here on sunny days in the spring, summer, and fall. All other days (and in winter), chickens will feed on hay placed in the upper right corner of the coop. Hay can be fetched from the dispenser in the upper left corner.
