It is used mainly for breaking [[stone]]s and picking up placed equipment or [[furniture]] items that cannot be picked up simply by clicking.  It is also used to un-till soil that has been tilled with a [[Hoes|Hoe]].

It is used mainly for breaking [[stone]]s and picking up placed equipment or [[furniture]] items that cannot be picked up simply by clicking.  It can also be used to remove [[crops]], and to un-till soil that has previously been tilled with a [[Hoes|Hoe]].  Striking a planted crop will remove the crop and any [[fertilizer]] in the underlying soil, leaving behind an empty tile of tilled soil.  Striking on tilled soil will revert the tile to an un-tilled state.

The Pickaxe may be upgraded at the [[Blacksmith]].  The cost and resource requirements for each upgrade are shown in the table below.  With each upgrade level, the number of hits required to break stones is reduced and bigger [[stone]]s may become breakable.
