There is currently a bug in the game which causes the savage ring speed buff to last for a long time by activating the ring, getting the [[Buffs|slimed debuff]], then eating or drinking any [[Cooking|Food]] that increases speed.  This causes the speed buff to remain until the Food speed buff expires.
