It says there that you need 2x [[Explosive Ammo]] to free Professor Snail from the cave. However, I just needed one. I was using a [[Master Slingshot]] and, before blowing it up, I hit the blockage roughly 50 times with an [[Pickaxes#Grades_of_Pickaxe|Iridium Pickaxe]]. Might that have anything to do with it? :I think the difference is in using a regular slingshot vs. a Master slingshot. Master slingshots do 2x the damage. I just tested in-game, and with a regular slingshot I had to use 2 explosive ammo.
