The farming skill level can be viewed in the skill tab of the pause menu. Each level grants +1 [[proficiency]] to the hoe and watering can [[tools]]. Levels are gained only by harvesting [[crops]].The amount of experience gained from harvesting crops varies based on the value of the harvested crop and the time it takes to grow,with slower growing,more expensive crops giving more experience upon harvest.Variably yielding crops,like [[blueberry]],[[cranberry]],[[potato]] crops, do not offer any extra experience upon harvest of multiple produce from a single harvest.

To level up farming from level 0 to 1, it takes harvesting 12 parsnip plants or 8 potato plants or 5 cauliflower plants,and from level 0 to 2 it takes 48 parsnip plants or 28 potato plants or 17 cauliflower plants.
