Winter Seeds are a type of seed. Mature plants yield, at random, a Winter Root, Crystal Fruit, Snow Yam, or Crocus.

It can be obtained through crafting or placing Winter Root into Seed Maker.

Crafting with the four crops required produces 10 seeds, but placing Winter Root into Seed Maker produces 1 to 3 seeds. The Seed Maker does not accept the other three Winter Foraging crops: Crystal Fruit, Snow Yam, and Crocus. With four crops, the Seed Maker can produce between 4 seeds minimum and 12 seeds maximum. This makes crafting the superior source of Winter Seeds, especially since crafting takes no time, whereas the Seed Maker requires time.

The Traveling Cart may sell only one seed for data-sort-value="100">100g.

Unlike other crops, on the day a plant from a winter seed is available for harvest, there is a chance that the tile will revert from a tilled state to a non-tilled state, requiring the player to use the Hoe again to make the area plantable.

It is one of the season-specific, wild seed packs, along with Spring Seeds, Summer Seeds, and Fall Seeds.
