Sam is a villager who lives in Pelican Town. He's one of the ten characters available to marry. He lives in the southern part of town, just north of the river.

Sam is often in his bedroom practicing guitar, or spending time with his friend Sebastian. He works part time at JojaMart as well.

Relationships

Sam lives with his mother Jodi and younger brother Vincent. He and Sebastian are close friends and often spend time together. In Spring, year 2, Sam's father Kent returns and resides in the house with the rest of the family.

Sam is good friends with Sebastian and the two of them are often found hanging out together.

Details

Sam and Sebastian are jamming out in Sam's room. Sam tells you he's trying to get a band together, but is unsure of what music style to play. He asks what music you like. "Cheerful pop music." "Experimental noise rock." "Hi-energy dance music." "Honky-tonk country music." No matter which style you pick, Sam says that's the style he's been thinking about for the band. He asks Sebastian if he's on board, too. Sebastian agrees and Sam thanks you.

Three Hearts

Enter the beach on a sunny day, and a cut scene will trigger. This event can only trigger in Year 1.

Details

Sam watching his brother, Vincent, play in the sand. Sam tells you that his dad used to take them to the beach on sunny days. Vincent asks if their father is ever going to come home. Sam says "Of course." Vincent mentions overhearing people talk about the mass military casualties. Sam tells him not to believe them, and Vincent returns to playing. Sam feels bad for getting his brother's hopes up and asks for your opinion. "It's best to be honest with kids." Sam questions your thoughts, but then agrees that kids have to learn about the world one way or another. "You did the right thing. Kids should have hope." Sam agrees with you. Sam tells you the band's coming together, and Sebastian wanted Abigail to be the drummer.

Enter Sam's house and a cut scene will trigger. Time?

Details

Sam will be in the kitchen. He says hello and he gets you a snack. Sam drops the egg on the kitchen floor. His mom hears the commotion and goes to the kitchen, immediately freaking out about the mess. Sam asks you to tell her what happened. "Sam dropped the snack as he was handing it to me." "Sam handed me the snack and then I dropped it." Sam agrees with you. "Sam dropped it on purpose. He thought it would be funny." Jodi thanks you for being honest, and Sam insists he'll clean up the mess.

Six Hearts

Head toward Sam's house during the day.

Details

A cut scene will trigger with Sam skateboarding and grinding on Emily and Haley's flower box. Lewis catches him and scolds him for it. Sam asks for your opinion. "You're right, sir. Sam should respect private property." If you pick this, Sam is unhappy, but obliges and says he'll just not skateboard ever again. "Don't blame Sam. There's nowhere else to ride!" If you pick this, Sam seems happy and agrees. Mayor Lewis becomes frustrated and states that he thought you were more mature than that but afterwords apologizes to Sam and asks him to be more careful in the future "I'm staying out of this."

Eight Hearts

Sam will show up at your door first thing in the morning.

Details

He will ask you to see his band play in the city. Meet Sam and the others at the bus stop at 4pm. You watch his band play, and he thanks you for inspiring his band with the type of music they should play. After the cut scene, you return to the bus stop, and the time is still 4pm. Even though he tells that his band is playing in the city "tonight", meaning the same day, it happens the following day.

Ten Hearts

After you reach 10 hearts, you will receive a letter from Sam the following morning.

Details

He asks to meet you after dark. Enter town after 8PM, and you will meet Sam outside of his house. He says it's cold outside and sneaks you into his room to talk privately. He admits he's falling for you, and then his mom knocks on the door. He has you hide in the bed. His mom comes in and asks why he's sweating and red in the face, and Sam says he's just been doing push ups. She wishes him good night and leaves. You are presented with the option to: Stand up Stay in the bed. If you pick this one, Sam crawls into bed with you, kisses you, and says "I knew there was something special between us."

Schedule

Sam can often be found in his bedroom practicing his guitar. He's also often in town playing his handheld video game or at the saloon playing pool. He sometimes works part time at JojaMart, Monday and Wednesday. During spring he frequents the saloon, visits the woods west of town in the fall, and the beach during summer.

When it's raining he'll often stay home all day, or visit The Saloon for a few hours.

His schedule can deviate if there are specific conditions like season, weather or certain days of the week. Below are his schedule deviations prioritized highest to lowest (for example when it rains that schedule will override all others below it)
