The Railroad is located to the North of The Mountain. It becomes accessible after an earthquake occurs on the 3rd of Summer in the first year, clearing the blocked pass.

The Train

Every few days a train will pass through the area, dropping items if you get there fast enough. A message will pop up saying "A train is passing through Stardew Valley!"

While the train cars pass by, items such as Coal, Wood and Geodes may fall off and be acquired. This requires the player actually being present as the train passes, the items will not spawn if the player is in a different area at the time. Sometimes the train drops nothing.

Train passing times appear to be every few days at random. The timings differ from player to player. Here are one players times:

The Spa

In the South-West of the area is the Spa. Standing still when in the pool causes energy and health to be rapidly restored.

Note

If the player stands in front of the train as it approaches, they will suffer minor damage and be knocked back.

If the player hits the train with a sword, they will suffer 15 - 20 points of damage and be knocked back.
