The Secret Woods also contains six [[Large Stump]]s that regrow daily and can be harvested for a total of twelve [[Hardwood]] each day. Four stumps are in the upper part of the woods, and two are found by walking through one of two covered passages to a smaller lower area.  One passage is through the trees slightly southeast of the upper set of three stumps, and the other is south of the entrance to the woods, approximately 2-3 tiles to the right of a bush.  The former passage is a straight line, but the latter requires the player to walk south, then left, then south again.

After reading [[Secret Notes#Secret Note #23|Secret Note #23]], you will get a letter in the mail reading "If yoo can reed dis... come to seecrit wuds. Pleez bring may-pal serrup." This will activate the Strange Note quest. As the message requests, you must receive maple syrup and deliver it to the Secret Woods. You can do this by applying a [[Tapper]] to a maple tree and waiting for it to produce [[Maple Syrup]].

Once you navigate to the Secret Woods between 6am and 7pm, a cutscene will play where the Player meets a grizzly bear takes the maple syrup, and thanks the player by giving his special knowledge of berries which will permanently increases the sell price of [[Blackberry|blackberries]] and [[Salmonberry|salmonberries]] by 3x.
