Rice Shoot is a spring seed that normally matures in 8 days. However, it grows faster (at a fixed rate) if it is planted in the effective range of one of the ponds available to the farm, in which case it does not need watering either. Paddies do not need to be continuous in order to receive benefits from your water source. Each rice shoot produces 1 to 3 Unmilled Rice. Must be harvested with a Scythe. The pond's effective range is 3 tiles away.
     −
Rice Shoot can be acquired in fishing treasure chests, and by digging artifact spots or roots. It drops from grubs in the mines and Haunted Skulls in the quarry dungeon. Pierre sells Rice Shoots starting from Year 2 for 40g.

Rice Shoots are a type of seed. Mature plants yield Unmilled Rice. Unmilled Rice is harvested using a Scythe.

Rice Shoots can be purchased  at Pierre's General Store starting in year 2, from the Magic Shop Boat at the Night Market on Winter 15 (starting in year 2), and occasionally from the Traveling Cart. They can also be obtained in Fishing Treasure Chests, Artifact Spots,  by using the Seed Maker, as a drop from monsters in the mine or by using the Seed Maker.

Rice Shoots take only 6 days to mature and do not require watering if planted between 3 tiles of a Farm Pond in any direction, otherwise they will take 8 days to mature.
