“Abigail lives at the general store with her parents. She sometimes fights with her mom, who worries about Abigail’s “alternative lifestyle”. Her mom has the following to say: “I wish Abby would dress more appropriately and stop dyeing her hair blue. She has such a wonderful natural hair color, just like her grandmother did. Oh, and I wish she’d find some wholesome interests instead of this occult nonsense she’s into.” You might find Abigail alone in the graveyard, or maybe out in a rainstorm looking for frogs.”

Heart Events

Two Hearts

When you enter Pierre's shop, a cutscene will play in which you enter Abigail's room and watch her get angry about a videogame. She then asks you to help her with a level in a console version of "Journey of the Prairie King". You then proceed to play the game the same way as on the arcade machine, but Abigail is playing with you as a second player and she will actively help you. After you finish the level, she'll thank you and the cutscene will end.

Four Hearts

When you walk by The Lake on the way to the mine on a rainy day, you'll come across a cutscene of Abigail playing her flute. She'll ask what you're doing out in the rain, and then invite you to stand under the tree with her. You pull out a harp and the two of you play a duet as the camera pans out over the lake.

Six Hearts

If you walk into town after dark, a cutscene of Abigail in the graveyard will play. She'll tell you that she's been practicing with her sword because she wants to go on adventures. She'll ask you if you've ever used a sword, then Pierre will interrupt, saying that Caroline has been looking for her to come help cook dinner. Abigail gets angry, saying they only expect her to help cook because she's a girl, and she will flee, calling for you to follow. The two of you hide in some bushes and talk, then the cutscene ends.

Eight Hearts

You'll receive a letter from 'Abby' to visit her in her room after 8pm to 'show you something cool'. It may take a couple of days but eventually entering her home after 8pm will trigger a cutscene where she shows you her spirit board. It reveals a message that indicates she's starting to develop feelings for you. She gets nervous and rushes you out of her room. The next day she'll visit you in the morning and apologize.

Ten Hearts

Once getting to ten hearts and giving Abigail a bouquet, entering The Mines during the late afternoon (5pm) may trigger a cutscene with Abigail. Abigail is preparing to go down the ladder into the mine and gets scared by a bat flying up into her face. She laughs it off after seeing its just a bat and looks back down the hole. Hundreds more bats fly up and scare her, so she runs to the corner of the room and cries. You then rush in to comfort her, and she'll confess she likes you as more than a friend. She then kisses you and leaves.

Marriage

The wedding will take place 3 days after you propose and be handled by Abigail. After the Marriage Ceremony is complete, she will move into your farm.

The beach
"Huh. I think that would get old fast."

"[NAME], What do you think happens to us after we die?"

I have no idea.
We come back as spooky ghosts.
"Well that's an interesting theory!"
We go to heaven.
Our energy bodies enter the astral plane.
Nothing. We just cease to exist.

Festivals

At the Egg Festival, she will always win the egg hunt unless the player gets 9 or more eggs.

Timeline

Abigail's look evolved over the years the game was in development. Here's a timeline showing how ConcernedApe's art and Abigail's style changed over the years before the game was launched.

Trivia

  • When Abigail was first revealed during early development she was depicted with dyed blue hair. This was later changed to purple.
  • "Abigail" is a female given name of Hebrew origin, meaning "my father's joy."
  • Abigail enjoys eating quartz, an item that ranks at a seven on the Mohs hardness scale - this is tougher than iron, but not as tough as hardened steel.
  • Abigail wishes she had a cat but her Dad is allergic to pretty much everything.
  • Giving her something she likes will result in her implying that she is going to eat what you gave her, regardless of what it is.
