I asume this is the talk page you wanted me to motivate the resutlt. I'm sorry if you meant my own talk page.
Taking what's on the wiki as given, the first truffle is almost guaranteed, and subsequent ones have a likeleyhood of 3/5 and this can happen several times.
The mean value then becomes 1+3/5+(3/5)^2+(3/5)^3.....
This is a infinite geometric series, but it does converge, we can find the value like this.
We call the value S
S=1+3/5+(3/5)^2+(3/5)^3.....
S(3/5)= 3/5 + (3/5)^2 + (3/5)^3 + (3/5)^4.....
S-S(3/5) = S(2/5)= 1
S = 5/2
