<p>Fishing Skill is increased by catching [[Fish]] or [[Trash]] with a Fishing Rod/Pole or by harvesting [[Crab Pot]]s.  Harvesting a Crab Pot gives 5 XP no matter what is harvested.  The amount of Fishing XP awarded for fishing with a pole depends on the difficulty of the fish, whether or not a treasure was caught with the fish, and whether or not the catch was "perfect".</p>

<p>Each level grants +1 Fishing Rod [[Skills#Proficiency|Proficiency]], increases the minimum fish size (in/cm) and bobber bar height, and decreases the max amount of time before fish bite.  Fishing skill also increases the chance to find quality (silver or gold star) fish.</p>
