Trees can be grown in-game. They can be broadly grouped in game as Non-Fruiting, Fruiting and Palm trees.
Non-Fruit Bearing
There are three varieties of non-fruit bearing trees that grow on the farm and within Stardew Valley. They can be felled using any Axe and yield Wood, Sap and after Foraging 1, their respective seed. A tree stump will remain that will, given time, regrow into a full tree.
Non-Fruiting trees take 10 to 12 days to grow from being planted, as long as the tiles in a two tile radius remain clear. They will grow at a reduced rate if other objects occupy part of this area and will not grow beyond a sapling if there is another tree directly adjacent. Once fully grown, the surrounding area can be paved with no ill effects on the tree, although doing so will prevent seeds from being dropped.
Maple Tree
These grow from Maple Seeds. When Tapped, they yield Maple Syrup.
Tree | Seed | Stage 1 | Stage 2 | Stage 3 | Stage 4 | Full Grown | Tapper Product |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Maple Tree | Maple Seed | Maple Syrup |
Oak Tree
These grow from Acorns. When Tapped, they yield Oak Resin.
Tree | Seed | Stage 1 | Stage 2 | Stage 3 | Stage 4 | Full Grown | Tapper Product |

Oak Tree | Acorn | Oak Resin |
Pine Tree
These grow from Pine Cones. When Tapped, they yield Pine Tar.
Tree | Seed | Stage 1 | Stage 2 | Stage 3 | Stage 4 | Full Grown | Tapper Product |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Pine Tree | Pine Cone | Pine Tar |
Palm Trees
There is only a single variety of palm tree, which grow only in The Desert. They drop Wood and Sap but they do not drop seeds. They cannot be Tapped.
Tree | Stage 1 | Stage 2 | Stage 3 | Stage 4 | Full Grown |
---|---|---|---|---|---|

Fruiting
There are six varieties of fruit tree; Apricot, Cherry, Orange, Peach, Apple, and Pomegranate.
Tree Type | Sapling | Stage 1 | Stage 2 | Stage 3 | Stage 4 | Full Grown | Fruit |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Apricot Tree | Apricot Sapling | Apricot | |||||
Cherry Tree | Cherry Sapling | Cherry | |||||
Orange Tree | Orange Sapling | Orange | |||||
Peach Tree | Peach Sapling | Peach | |||||
Apple Tree | Apple Sapling | Apple | |||||
Pomegranate Tree | Pomegranate Sapling | Pomegranate |
Like Non-Fruiting trees, if felled they yield Wood, Sap and after Foraging 1, their respective seed.
Excluding Winter, each season has two varieties will bear fruit that can be harvested daily.
Fruit trees take 28 days to grow from being planted and require the area in a two tile radius to remain clear while growing. They will be prevented from planting if another tree lies within that area. Once fully grown, the surrounding area can be paved with no ill effects.
These are covered in greater detail in the Fruit Trees article.
Fruit trees need a free 3x3 space to be planted.
