The Golden Tag is a special reward that can be obtained by catching a Rainbow Trout during the Trout Derby mini festival. It can be exchanged for prizes at the derby booth.
During the festival, when the player catches a Rainbow Trout, there is a 33% chance to get a Golden Tag. This chance is multiplied by the number of Rainbow Trout caught.[1] This means that there is a 66% chance to get a Golden Tag when 2 Rainbow Trout are caught at once (possible when using Wild Bait or Challenge Bait) and a 99% chance to get a Golden Tag when 3 Rainbow Trout are caught at once (only possible when using Challenge Bait).
