I'm not sure how to make a discussion page, but I need it to be known that Mapping Cave Systems and The Alleyway Buffet can be sold by this guy, likely only if you don't have them yet. The problem is that I didn't note down the price, since I assumed that was how you got them. I have proof in the way of having a duplicate of the mapping cave systems book if thats needed, but I doubt it will be. Someone please investigate. Not sure if this already exists in another section, searching failed to find it.  If the tree that is mostly hidden behind the balloon is fully grown and struck with an axe while the book seller is there, it will drop a book. The first book is always Woodys Secrets.  i have only gotten a second book twice, and it was the basic forestry xp book both times, likely that is always the case.

Cutting it down when the bookseller is NOT there will not give a book. if the tree is not fully grown when you cut it down, it will NOT give a book.

All times I have done this, I have had a copper axe, and the book fell on the 7th swing, meaning the tree was not cut down completely before dropping. The first two times, I did click again, and cut it down. I abandonded that save and started over, and have now NOT cut the tree down the first time. I will report back if a book drops next time they are in town without a full cut down and regrowth cycle.  TheLeakingPen (talk) 22:29, 29 March 2024 (UTC)

Formatting of trading section on item pages?
There are now quite a few merchants who trade with items - the Bookseller, Desert Trader, Raccoon's Wife, Island Trader, and Volcano Dwarf. I'd like to standardize how this information is presented on the relevant item pages, but it seems like there are a few different approaches:
 +
*Option A: Diamond has a separate Trading section with a table and info written above.
 +
*Option B: Jewels Of The Sea has a separate Trading section but no table. The info is written out in sentence format.
 +
*Option C: Omni Geode has a separate Desert Merchant section for trading. This one also has a table.
 +
*Option D: Bat Wing has the use of the item as a trading currency written in the lead paragraph; there is no separate section.
 +
*Option E: Pearl has its trading info listed under its Uses section.
 +
Which format should we go with? I personally think it should be noted in a separate Trading section, but I don't know if tables should be used. They seem useful when multiple items can be purchased with that item as a currency (like Omni Geodes). However, the Iridium Bar page just lists multiple items with several bullet points (similar to how Bundles are handled). I'd love to hear some opinions on this! :My opinion: Separate trading section = Yes! Tables = Not so much. Not on the page for the item you're trading away, anyway. margotbean (talk) 19:40, 26 June 2024 (UTC)

::I agree. Imo Option B is the best with the Jewels Of The Sea page as a perfect example of the formating of Trading section. User314159 (talk) 22:55, 26 June 2024 (UTC)

 • Option A: Diamond has a separate Trading section with a table and info written above.
 • Option B: Jewels Of The Sea has a separate Trading section but no table. The info is written out in sentence format.
 • Option C: Omni Geode has a separate Desert Merchant section for trading. This one also has a table.
 • Option D: Bat Wing has the use of the item as a trading currency written in the lead paragraph; there is no separate section.
 • Option E: Pearl has its trading info listed under its Uses section.

I agree. Imo Option B is the best with the Jewels Of The Sea page as a perfect example of the formating of Trading section. User314159 (talk) 22:55, 26 June 2024 (UTC)
