A Big Mushroom that rarely spawns on the farm instead of a tree. It can be harvested using an axe and will drop up to around 5 red mushrooms when chopped down (one more for the stem). It does not yield seeds, but it will spread saplings like a regular tree. During Winter, it will be reduced to a stem, but that stem may regrow in Spring. If chopped down though, the stem does not appear to regrow.

Obtaining the first Big Mushroom is a random event that can only happen in the Fall. On each day of Fall there is a 5% chance of a spawning event being triggered. When triggered, the game engine will choose 10 farm tiles at random. If any of those ten tiles have a fully grown, untapped forest tree, then that tree will transform into a big mushroom. A tree stump also has a chance of turning into a mushroom stump, though the player will have to wait until next Spring before it will regrow into a full Big Mushroom.

A Big Mushroom can be tapped with a tapper. It yields Red Mushroom, Purple Mushroom and Common Mushroom when tapped, except during the Winter.

• A player may obtain weeds by chopping a seed dropped by a Big Mushroom with a tool. The weed can then be placed on the ground and harvested to obtain fiber.
