It's a lot easier to use than other rods, but can only catch basic fish.

The Training Rod is a special tool used to catch fish. It can be purchased for data-sort-value="25">Gold.png25g from Willy's Fish Shop if the player has difficulty with the fishing mini-game.

Mechanics

Advantages

  • When using the Training Rod, the bar size in the fishing mini-game will always be set to that of fishing skill level 5. (At the beginning of the game, this is significantly bigger than the size of the level 0 fishing bar.)
  • For players who have difficulty with the fishing mini-game, it is recommended to use the Training Rod until you gain a few fishing skill levels.
  • At fishing level 5 and higher, it is never advantageous to use the Training Rod (unless you are specifically trying to catch one of the basic fish types).
