The Scythe is a tool obtained at the beginning of the game that is used to cut grass, weeds, and young trees. It is required for harvesting certain crops (i.e., Amaranth, Kale, Wheat). It can also other harvest crops within its swing range (with some exceptions, such as fruit trees). It cannot harvest forageables found in the wild, but can harvest forageables grown from seasonal wild seeds on the farm.
If the player has a Silo, cutting each plot of Grass growing on the Farm gives a 50% chance of adding a piece of hay to the silo.
A Scythe may be used as a weapon to inflict a small amount of damage. Using a Scythe does not consume energy.
Unlike other tools the Scythe can not be upgraded at the Blacksmith. Upgraded versions can only be obtained by specific sources.
